Page Ruler Extension
SlidesYearbook is an Google Innovator that empowers students to design and publish their memory books. It is not necessary to pay a yearbook company massive amounts of money when students have free apps such as Google Slides.
To learn more about Google Yearbook, please go to SlidesYearbook.com. In this blog, I will explain how to precisely place photos.
As of now Google Slides does not have a way to get the dimensions of the photos. I would love to change that. Until then we have the Page Ruler extension to view the photograph's precise dimensions in pixels.
This is how the extension works.
Open Page Ruler extension on the right. Press the bracket image on the left and activate the element mode. Now press the photo to see its height. In this example the picture is 208 pixels. I add that number to the notes.
Close the extension and change the slide and repeat the process. Open the extension on the right. Press the bracket image on the left and activate the element mode. Select the photo to view its height. At 225 pixels, the photo is lower than the picture on the previous page.
Close the extension. I can select the two photos and use the arrows to move both of them at the same time. If I need to move the photos with more precision, I use the shift key and the arrow at the same time.
This innovative project was part of the Google Innovator Academy in Mexico City in December 2016. Go to SlidesYearbook.com for more information.
